The power of your subconscious mind goes further than you might think.
No pun intended.
I am sure you will agree with me when I say our brains are extremely complicated.
Yes, our brain is divided into two parts/ hemisphere (not physically) the right side of the brain is responsible of reasoning, solving mathematical computations, or the main and important thing it decides the choices you make.
When going to college or party or job, which dress you will be wearing or what type of tie, is decided by that right hemisphere of your brain.
The right hemisphere is also better known as Conscious Mind.
But today we are not here to talk about Conscious Mind. I am little bit interested and curious in Sub-Conscious mind.
Left hemisphere is responsible for two main things that make us Humans rational animals i.e. Creativity and Imagination.
Let’s talk about Sub-conscious mind.
It’s a storehouse of Abundant Resources, Infinite Intelligence and Ever-lasting substance.
Your subconscious mind is subjective. It does not think or reason independently; it merely obeys the commands it receives from your Conscious mind. You can consider your sub-conscious as Captain of the ship (ship being you and you are giving command to it). It will not say that there is iceberg or ship is going to sink it will merely obey your command.
Just as your conscious mind can be thought of as the gardener, planting seeds, your subconscious mind can be thought of as the garden, or fertile soil, in which the seeds germinate and grow. This is another reason why harnessing the power of positive thinking is important to the foundation of your entire thought process.
In a study under hypnosis, older people can often remember, with perfect clarity, events from fifty years before. Your unconscious memory is virtually perfect. It is your conscious recall that is suspect.
Good news that, we can harness our sub-conscious mind.
We can do it by positive self-talking (better known as Auto-suggestions) and believing in something that we desperately want to have (even though it can’t be achieved right for example earing $100,000 dollars).
Many of you have harnessed your sub-conscious many a times in their lifetimes. They just do not know.
For example, when I read this concept, for first time I was stunned to know that I have harnessed the sub-conscious. In childhood, when I wanted to go to some trekking/ or any other road trip with family and friends I would wake up at that desire time when sleeping I murmured to myself. A guy who would wake up every day at 08.00 AM or 09.00 AM had wake up at 05.30 AM that is the power of your sub-conscious mind.
Another way to harness the sub-conscious by positive talking. Many friends and colleagues of mine always say things like “I’m unlucky”, “I can’t do this or that”. Yes, they are unlucky because they are influencing their sub-conscious mind to act on it. Your sub-conscious mind cannot make difference positivity and negativity. Even when you are saying something not seriously or jokingly your sub-conscious can’t make difference between it; it will act accordingly.
Your sub-conscious mind acts on a dominant belief. So, next time when you are talking negatively correct it right way or sub-conscious will act on it sooner or later.
This is why motivational activities, such as reading inspirational quotes, are so impactful for people committed to positive thinking. By focusing your thoughts on uplifting ideas, your subconscious will begin to implement a positive pattern in your way of thinking and your outlook on life.
Your conscious mind commands and your subconscious mind obeys.
Your subconscious mind is an unquestioning servant that works day and night to make your behaviour fits a pattern consistent with your emotionalized thoughts, hopes, and desires. Your subconscious mind grows either flowers or weeds in the garden of your life, whichever you plant by the mental equivalents you create.
I came to know better about this by few Self-help books if you want to read for further reading here is the list of books:
1. The power of your sub-conscious mind by Dr. Joseph Murphy.
2. Think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill.
3. You can win by Shiv Khera.
4. Attitude is everything by Jeff Keller.
